Personality:
Despite life taking a crack at her early by taking her parents from her at a very young age, there isn't much that Cindy let's get her down. She's a very upbeat individual that takes everything in stride, approaching every situation with a positive attitude and trying to encourage others to do the same. She has a knack for trying to look on the bright side of things and will help others try to find a positive spin for a bad situation if she can. And if not? Well, she'll be right there to give them moral support until they get through the rough times because that's what everyone should do. She's always willing to lend a hand if someone needs help and is very willing to cut people a break if they're in a bad spot and can't afford to pay for something up front. (Looking at you, prince!)
Cindy is extremely curious about anything and everything mechanical. Having grown up outside the wall (and in turn Insomnia) she has a keen interest in anything she's never gotten her hands on before and will take it apart just so she can learn how to put it back together again and further her knowledge of how everything around her works. She's a very hands on learner and once she's gotten her hands on something she usually doesn't have trouble figuring out how it works which means she can then show other people how it does and how to fix it. Cindy isn't afraid to admit that she's doesn't know about something because admitting it means that she can learn quicker, assuming others are willing to show her or let her tear something apart so she can teach herself.
She's got a much sharper wit than most people might expect (because let's be real, people probably assume things about her given appearances and where she's from) and can go toe to toe verbally with the best of them. She's not afraid to trade verbal blows with anyone and will do it with a grin on her face. Being malicious isn't in her nature so it's generally always in good fun or to put someone in their place in a more easy going manner but, if she has to, Cindy can get harsh. (But she really doesn't like it so please don't push her to that, ya'll. She really prefers just being nice to everyone and bantering.) Cindy pokes fun at people but always in a way that isn't hurtful, always looking to keep things light and fun. Humor is a good way to break up a particularly tense situation after all!
Underneath this sunny exterior is a young woman that has been through a lot, as mentioned briefly before. Losing her parents to daemons, witnessing it first hand, is something that still haunts Cindy to this day as much as she tries not to let it. She's got a deep rooted fear that she's going to lose everyone she cares about to the monsters and always has that sinking feeling that she won't see someone again whenever they leave Hammerhead because Daemons are going to take them away. While she knows full well that people are capable of handling themselves it's a hard feeling to shake. (And it's why she tends to keep those feelings to herself. Cid is probably the only person actually aware of what goes through the darker parts of Cindy's mind most of the time.)
With this deep rooted fear and anxiety comes a temper that rears it's ugly head sometimes when Cindy is under a lot of stress or extremely worried about someone in particular. It doesn't happen often but when it all gets to be too much she'll disappear for a bit to take her anger out on some poor piece of scrap metal or the empty husk of a car that she dismantled a few weeks back. (Which is much better than taking it out on an actual person or rushing off to get in a fight with some monster just because she's upset.) Just like with her more stressful, anxious moments, she does her best to keep these moments of anger private because everyone's got their own things to worry about and no one needs to be burden with her problems as well. (Though Cid and Takka are pretty good at reading her and are always there to lend an ear as much as she tries to hide it from them.)
When it comes down to it, though, Cindy is a hard working young woman that views people as just that: people. Ranks and standing don't mean much to her since she lives outside the wall and if you're able bodied that means you can do work to help out so get ready because she's got work for you to do. Her way of testing others constitution and morals is by tossing tasks at them--not asking but telling them really--and seeing how well they take it on. (Though she'll never give someone a task she knows they can't handle; she's not that kind of person.) She's very much about give and take, trading skills in a sense, and is always happy to trade her services for some help in return.
